Ca Welcome Center

Visitors to and through California can mark their maps with a new California Welcome Center (CWC) stop in Tulare.

"California Welcome Centers provide a welcome mat and pertinent information to help travelers enhance and round out their California vacation experience," said Caroline Beteta, president and CEO of the California Travel and Tourism Commission (CTTC) and national chair of the U.S Travel Association. "We are proud to add a new Central Valley CWCs for a total of 14 throughout the state."

The California Welcome Center, Tulare, located in the Central Valley region, makes its home the Heritage Complex at the International Agri-Center. Uniquely situated, the center is visible from Highway 99 and on the way to the Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park, Giant Sequoia National Monument, and for north-bound travelers, Yosemite National Park.

Serving visitors to the Sequoia Valley, the center offers a unique experience by sharing a location with the Antique Farm Equipment Museum and AgVentures!, an interactive learning center, created to inspire all to understand and protect California's agriculture resources.

Sequoia trees are the largest living things on earth and are thousands of years old. They are found both in the national park and national forest, making a visit to these magnetic forests a must for every visitor to the area. The Sequoia Valley also features farm tours, farm stays and cheese and wine-making tours.

The Tulare CWC is open seven days a week and offer professionally designed tourism information displays; brochures from throughout the state for destination, attraction, performing arts and accommodations; reservation services; Internet access; regional and California merchandise; and attraction ticket sales.

The overall mission of the CWCs is to encourage tourism in California and to provide benefits to the state economy. The 14 CWCs prominently promote their immediate area to give travelers a reason to stay longer, and they also represent the entire state through dissemination of statewide visitor information.
